First Lite just launched a new whitetail system, developed by the most dedicated deer hunters and perfected for when it matters most.
“I think, more than ever, you can see in this clothing that the details matter—all the little things are right,” MeatEater’s Mark Kenyon said. “All the little things that only super serious deer hunters care about. Those things are taken care of.”
The system is organized by temperature so you can avoid sweaty walks into the stand and stay comfortable all day long while waiting for your hitlister to walk into range.
“Discomfort saves a lot of deer lives,” MeatEater’s Tony Peterson said. “Last fall, I arrowed three public land bucks in conditions that ranged from the upper 70s to an all-day blizzard carried along on 40mph winds. For those toasty hunts, I used the Phase System, and during those Arctic-level sits, I used the Core Kit. I’m positive I wouldn’t have filled those tags if I wasn’t wearing the right clothing because I wouldn’t have been out there all day.”
All products are available in Specter—First Lite’s proprietary whitetail camo pattern. All Specter sales support Camo for Conservation by raising money for the National Deer Association, the country’s foremost whitetail management and advocacy organization.

The Core Kit is designed for Temperatures 20°- 45°F
“There’s no way to really test out the effectiveness of hunting clothing without using it in really nasty weather,” Tony said. And that’s exactly what he did.
“I’ve done countless dark-to-dark sits in my whitetail hunting career, but the worst one weather-wise happened last fall in North Dakota,” Tony said. “I set out in the Core System before first light in a blizzard and ended up arrowing a great buck with just minutes to spare in the evening. I never saw another hunter. I ended up sitting all day, never getting cold or overly uncomfortable, even though the weather was absolutely brutal.”
The Core Jacket is constructed with windproof technology and insulated with 80 gsm of PrimaLoft® Gold in the body and 60 gsm in the sleeves. It’s dead silent and fully featured, with KitLink™ pass-thru magnetic pockets, harness passthrough, removable hood, pockets you can access while in a harness, and more. This jacket will seamlessly integrate into your whitetail kit.
The Core Bib is constructed with 60 gsm of PrimaLoft® Gold insulation in the legs and hand warmer chest panel and 80 gsm in the body. Super silent and windproof, these bibs also have full-leg zippers, dual-access cargo pockets, an adjustable waist, and a fleece-lined kangaroo pocket.
“I’m positive I wouldn’t have filled that tag if I wasn’t wearing the Core Jacket and Bibs—windproof clothing that is chock full of insulation,” Tony said. “The only time I was even uncomfortable was when I started sweating while dragging a great public land 10-pointer out.”
The Thermic Kit is Designed for Temperatures Below 20°F
The weather Tony experienced still wasn’t the coldest that whitetail hunters deal with. For those incredibly cold sits, turn to the Thermic Kit.
The Thermic Bib is made to keep you warm and agile on the most frigid days with 170 gsm PrimaLoft® Gold insulation and windproof technology. It also offers assets like a fleece-lined kangaroo pocket, dual-access cargo pockets, an adjustable waistband, and full-leg zippers.
The Thermic Jacket is built using 200 gsm PrimaLoft® Gold insulation, high-loft Berber fleece lining, and windproof technology to keep you more comfortable and maximize warmth. This ultra-quiet jacket is packed with whitetail features, including water resistance, treestand-specific pocketing, harness pass-thru, removable hood with contoured collar, and a new and improved magnetic KitLink™ system.
The Thermic Muff is a crucial piece of equipment if you plan on drawing on a buck in freezing temperatures. This bomber cold-weather Muff insulates exceptionally well with 200 gsm PrimaLoft® Gold insulation and high lofted berber fleece lining. It blocks the wind, allows ease of entry/exit, and wears like iron.
The Phase Kit is Designed for Temperatures between 45°- 60°F
On the other end of the spectrum, First Lite also has you covered for early season, warm weather, and everything in between with the Phase Kit.
The Phase Bib is an ultra-quiet, durable, windproof, and water-resistant fleece-lind softshell bib. It is packed with features like tree stand-specific pocketing, full-length leg zips, an adjustable waistband, and KitLink™ system compatibility, making it dialed for the tree stand or blind.
The Phase Jacket is a fleeced softshell made for a wide range of temperatures. It’s ultra-quiet, durable, windproof, and water-resistant. Features include tree stand-specific pocketing, harness pass-thru, adjustable and layering compatible cuffs, a removable hood with a contoured collar, and a new and improved magnetic KitLink™ system.
