Galco Gunleather has just launched the High Ready chest holster system to fit the popular 9mm striker-fired Glock G17 pistol and the Streamlight TLR-1 series of tactical lights.
Galco’s High Ready chest holsters are built to enable you to carry a full-size handgun in the field and are primarily used by hikers, outdoor enthusiasts, hunters, guides and others. The chest harness system clips onto the holster body at three different points and includes a horizontal strap that hugs the wearer’s torso along with a diagonal strap that loops over the wearer’s opposite shoulder. Most importantly, by centering the holstered handgun over the middle of the chest, the Galco Gunleather High Ready Chest Holster system keeps the wearer’s beltline, side or hip area clear and available for other types of gear such as packs with frames and the like.
The unique harness construction allows the holster to pivot at three independent attachment points, maximizing freedom of movement and minimizing restriction. Three quick-operating, highly secure metal side-release buckles attach the holster component to the harness straps at the pivot points. Two-inch-wide tubular webbing harness straps distribute the weight of a heavy handgun for maximum comfort. One strap goes over either shoulder, while the second wraps around the torso for highly effective weight distribution.
The rigid, open-top Kydex holster pocket offers full slide coverage, provides for a rapid draw and easy holstering and facilitates a full firing grip. The holster pocket for 9mm Glock G17 pistols and Streamlight TLR-1 lights can be had with a top cut in order to accommodate a slide-mounted reflex sight, if applicable. The holster pocket will also accommodate any of the five generations of Glock G17 pistols in circulation without issue.
