Meprolight is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. The company’s first designs for defensive shooting and precision marksmanship included innovations in tritium and fiber-optics, which quickly gained favor among enthusiasts and professionals alike. Today the firm has expanded its line to include high-performance red-dot sights and variable optics that are trusted by military, law enforcement and civilian shooters around the world.

Among its most iconic products is the Mepro M21, the firm’s first reflex sight to be fully self-illuminated, powered by fiber optics for daytime use and tritium for nighttime. Adopted by the Israel Defense Forces in 2002 and introduced to U.S. shooters in 2004, the M21 remains in active service with militaries and law enforcement agencies across the globe. It also remains a top choice of shooters wanting a battery-free optic for their home defense weapon.

Meprolight has continued expand it innovative lineup. When Brian McCombie tested the firm’s MPO PRO-F Closed Emitter Sight for ShootingIllustrated.com last year he wrote, “The MSRP for the Meprolight MPO PRO-F and PRO-S are half of other closed emitters I’ve used, and are closed units that promise toughness of design and the ability to function under poor conditions. This the MPO optic rank among my top choices for concealed carry, home defense, target shooting and hunting.”

This year the company expanded its optics lineup with the MVO (Mepro Variable Optic) series—delivering enhanced versatility and long-range performance in rugged, combat-ready rifle scopes—and the MCO Pro Closed Emitter Carbine optic, among others.

Meprolight was established in 1990 to supply optics for the Israeli Defense Force and is a division of SK Group. The company was the first to patent a phosphorous and tritium sight and is headquartered in Akiva, Israel.
