Bear Creek Arsenal has just announced the launch of a new semi-automatic, rimfire carbine chambered for .17 Mach 2, the new Bear Creek Arsenal BC 204 series.

Bear Creek Arsenal BC 204 .17 Mach 2 rimfire semi-automatic carbines are patterned after the popular and proven Ruger 10/22 blowback rimfire action. This means that BC 204 .17 Mach 2 rimfire carbines also feed from the same rotary rimfire magazines as a 10/22. Bear Creek Arsenal then marries these proven actions to a 416 R stainless steel lightweight, match-grade barrel with a threaded muzzle. BC 204 receivers are machined from industry standard 7075-T6 aluminum and include an integrated Picatinny mounting base. This makes it extremely easy to mount any optic out of the box to your rifle. BC 204 barreled actions are bedded over Hogue synthetic stocks that include integrated sling mounts; stocks can be had in either black or green colors.

Bear Creek BC 204 Rimfire Carbine Features And Specifications

  • Action: Semi-automatic rimfire blowback
  • Caliber: .17 Mach 2
  • Barrel Length: 16 inches
  • Barrel Profile: Lightweight match
  • Barrel Twist: 1:9-inch
  • Barrel Finish: Stainless steel
  • Barrel Material: 416 R Stainless steel
  • Thread Pitch: 0.5×28 tpi

The .17 Mach 2, also known as .17 HM2, is a .17 caliber (4.5mm) rimfire cartridge developed by Hornady and introduced in 2004. It follows in the footsteps of the popular and successful .17 HMR rimfire cartridge and the shorter .17 Mach 2 is based on the .22 LR “Stinger” case. .17 Mach 2 cartridges are typically loaded with bullets that weigh roughly 50-percent less than comparable .22 LR bullets. As a result, the lighter projectile makes it easier for this rimfire cartridge to reach muzzle velocities faster than the typical .22 LR round.

Both Bear Creek Arsenal BC 204 models retail for $429. To learn more about these new .17 Mach 2 rimfire carbines or other firearms sold and designed by Bear Creek Arsenal, visit bearcreekarsenal.com.
