First Look Steiner H6Xi Riflescopes With RFP Reticle

Steiner Optics has added a new second-focal-plane, illuminated-reticle option to its high-end Steiner H6Xi series of hunting scopes with the arrival of the new Steiner MHR RFP.

The Modern Hunting Reticle, Rear Focal Plane incorporates an extremely “lightweight” Christmas tree reticle that’s centered over a duplex-style outer reticle. Done in a second-focal plane (or “rear-focal plane,” as Steiner calls it), the MHR RFP has a central, floating aimpoint. The bottom portion of the reticle has a slimmed-down bullet-drop compensating stadia lines as well. Because of its second-focal-plane design, the size of the MHR RFP remains consistent across all magnification levels, an attribute that many shooters find practical in the field, as the size of the reticle does not grow or shrink as you change magnification.

Steiner Modern Hunting Reticle, Rear-Focal-Plane Features

  • Available in Steiner H6Xi 2-12x42mm and Steiner H6Xi 3-18x50mm models
  • Duplex-style crosshairs with bold outer posts that draw the eye to the inner portion of the MHR RFP
  • MHR RFP bullet-drop compensation (BDC) markings that help hunts and shooters precisely hold over without needing to dial
  • Windage hold points to aid with wind calls or other “horizontal” shooting corrections.
  • Second-focal-plane design and reticle illumination, practical features for hunting scenarios

Steiner H6Xi series rifle scopes are derived from Steiner’s tactical T6Xi riflescopes. Unlike the older siblings, which are focused for tactical applications and precision-style shooting, the Steiner H6Xi product family is more focused outdoor shooting scenarios. H6Xi scopes are German-designed, but assembled in the United States of America. These scopes have Steiner’s 6X optical systems, which means they have a zoom-magnification ratio of 6:1.
