Springfield Armory is releasing a new addition to the Hellcat family, the Hellcat OSP .380. Chambered for the popular and easy-shooting .380 ACP round, this Hellcat is designed to be a micro-compact pistol that blends defensive performance with easy concealment.

The Hellcat .380 takes the things made the original 9mm version so popular and adds a softer shooting impulse. As an Optic Sight Pistol (OSP) in .380, it is unique in its class in that it’s designed from the ground up to be optics-ready. Like the original 9mm Hellcat, the new .380 features a removable cover plate that conceals an interface cut designed to accept Shield RMSc/SMSc-pattern optics. Because of the direct-mount design, the optic sits low enough for the pistol’s U-Dot sights to co-witness with the red dot.

To ensure you have ample defensive firepower, the Hellcat OSP .380 features an 11-round, flush-fitting magazine in its smallest form, and includes a 13-round extended magazine for added versatility. Both magazines are constructed from stainless steel for strength and longevity.

The pistol has a hammer-forged barrel and slide, while the lightweight polymer frame carries over the Hellcat’s Adaptive Grip Texture which uses a pattern of staggered pyramid shapes for maximum grip and comfort. The taller pyramids have a flattened top to ensure comfort, while the shorter pyramids come to a point and lock into your hand for a secure hold when the pistol is firmly gripped.

“The 9mm Hellcat quickly established itself as the standard when it came to impressive micro-sized 9mm pistol performance and capability,” said Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. “With the addition of this new Hellcat to the family, shooters have an optics-ready .380 featuring class-leading capacity that is ideal for their EDC needs.
