CZ Secures Big Contract with Czech Ministry of Defense

The Czech Ministry of Defense has entered into a long-term contract for CZ to supply small arms to that nation’s military. The agreement includes accessories and is valued at up to 4.26 billion CZK (approximately $204 million in U.S. currency), excluding VAT.

The document was Sept. 10 in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, by Lubor Koudelka—director general of the Armament and Acquisitions Division of the Ministry of Defense—and Jan Zajic, CEO and chairman of the Board of Directors of CZ. The agreement covers the period of 2025 to 2031 and builds on successful cooperation that began in 2011. Several past contracts with the Ministry of Defense have led to the successful transition of the Czech military to NATO calibers.

“CZ is a strategic partner that participated in the complete rearmament of the Czech Army with modern NATO-caliber small arms,” said Minister of Defense Jana Cernochova. “Continuing cooperation with this Czech company, which is one of the 10 largest manufacturers of these firearms in the world, is a logical step.”

Under the latest agreement, the nation’s army will continue to purchase CZ Bren 2 rifles, CZ P-10C pistols and CZ GL under-barrel grenade launchers. The deliveries will also include extensive accessories—electronic sights (day and night optics, laser sights), spare part kits, armorer kits, holsters and cases. The firearms will be gradually purchased in accordance with the current needs of the army.

“I would like to thank the Minister and the entire Ministry of Defense for their trust,” Zajic said. “It is a great honor for us to continue our cooperation with the Czech Army and working together to strengthen our country’s defense capabilities. Our firearms have long proven their reliability and quality in real combat conditions. We utilize this experience to make continuous improvements and develop new generations of our products.”

CZ-USA, based in Kansas City, KS, is the exclusive U.S. importer, manufacturer, and distributor of CZ-branded firearms, including handguns, rifles, and shotguns for competition, personal defense, law enforcement, and hunting. A subsidiary of the globally recognized Česká zbrojovka Group, CZ-USA is committed to delivering innovative, reliable, and high-performance firearms.
