First Look: Heritage Coachwhip Shotgun

by Braxton Taylor

Heritage Manufacturing has just unveiled the new 12-gauge Coachwhip side-by-side, break-action, double-barreled shotgun with a pair of 18-inch barrels. True to Heritage Manufacturing’s western styling, the new Coachwhip shotgun is outfitted with walnut furniture, a case-hardened receiver, a double set of triggers and the classic exposed hammers, a reminiscent detail found in many stagecoach shotguns from the time period. Unlike vintage side by side shotguns, the modern metallurgy of the Heritage Coachwhip can handle modern 12-gauge loads and it even has a sliding tang safety that’s easily accessible by both right or left-handed shooters. Additionally, while its traditionally styled stock follows the classic design lines of Old Western coach guns, the Coachwhip does include a rubber butt pad to dampen recoil and make the shooting experience more enjoyable. The Heritage Coachwhip is more than just a gun—it’s a piece of history brought to life, merging nostalgia with functionality. Whether displayed in a collection or put to use on the range, the Coachwhip is a perfect blend of tradition, craftsmanship, and Western grit.
