First Look: Talo Ruger SR1911 CCO Pistol

by Braxton Taylor

In collaboration with Sturm, Ruger & Co. Inc., Talo Distributors has just launched a new special edition model of the Ruger SR1911, the 9mm Talo Ruger SR1911 CCO pistol. The limited edition Talo Ruger SR1911 CCO is a two tone version of the single stack Ruger SR1911 built around a lightweight aluminum compact “Officer” sized frame and a “Commander” size slide. With this combination of components, the new Talo Ruger SR1911 CCO is primarily meant for personal protection and concealed carry.

This single stack 9mm pistol has a standard capacity of seven rounds of 9mm and also includes details including a pair of grippy G10 desert brown stocks and a black, flat trigger. The Commander-size slide which houses a 4.25-inch barrel also has its rear sight dovetail cut for Novak-pattern sights. Additionally, this Commander-size slide includes both front and rear serrations which add to both its functionality and its looks as a classically styled 1911-pattern pistol.

Because the new Talo Ruger SR1911 CCO is a carry gun, it includes a front sight with a tritium post and an glowing orange outer ring. This pistol makes use of aluminum in its frame instead of heavier steel to save weight, and while the front strap is plain, the backstrap of this anodized frame features some checkering.
