The growing congestion of Earth orbit has raised risks to satellites, space stations, and long-term space sustainability. The U.S. Space Force (USSF) has responded by forming partnerships, funding innovation, and revising policy aimed at orbital cleanup, servicing, and debris mitigation. These partnerships reflect recognition that commercial, academic, and interagency cooperation will be essential to address space debris as a strategic risk rather than just as a technical issue. Key Programs And Industry CollaborationsOne of the major initiatives is Orbital Prime, managed by SpaceWERX, the Space Force’s innovation arm. Orbital Prime is intended to stimulate development of technologies for In-Space Servicing, Assembly, and…

South Korea is pressing ahead with a plan to take wartime control of its military from the United States, a shift that could fundamentally alter how the two countries deter North Korea and manage security across Asia.President Lee Jae-Myung’s government confirmed this month that it wants to complete the transfer of what’s known as “operational control,” or OPCON, during his five-year term, according to the Korea JoongAng Daily. The decision marks Seoul’s strongest push in years to reclaim authority over its forces if war breaks out — a role the U.S. military has held since the Korean War armistice in 1953.Today,…

00:00:02 Speaker 1: Hey, everyone, welcome to the Foundation’s podcast. I’m your host Tony Peterson. Today’s episode is all about training styles and how to decide what is right for you and your dog. This one’s going to be kind of a fun one. It’ll probably piss some people off, though. I don’t know how to talk about the difference in training styles and not have that be the result, so I guess just doesn’t really matter. The thing is, there are a lot of different ways to train a dog, and one might really resonate with you, or more…
00:00:05 Speaker 1: This week’s episode of Bear Grease is very unique. I had a once in a lifetime opportunity to sit down with legendary American news broadcaster Ted Copple. I did an hour long interview with Ted, and what I’ve learned is that if you are below the age of thirty five, there’s a chance that that name wouldn’t ring a bell in your head, or if you saw his face, you might might not recognize it. But if you’re over the age of thirty five, I would say you probably recognize the name Ted Copple. He was a…
For China’s People’s Liberation Army, massive parades like the recent celebration of the 80th anniversary of victory in World War II are more than propaganda set pieces. Military leaders use them to show their Party superiors that the force is progressing towards its modernization goals, including being ready to fight jointly and to defeat any potential adversary—particularly “the strong adversary,” i.e., the United States. And as PLA texts attest, parades are opportunities to unveil new systems intended to deepen nuclear and conventional deterrence. The hours-long showcase on Sept. 3 offered glimpses of new weapons—especially missiles—and hints about about China’s progress on key…
NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland — The founder of the “Storm Area 51” Facebook event recently canceled the alien-enthusiast get-together outside the military installation in Nevada, but the U.S. Air Force is still sending reinforcements just in case things get out of hand, top officials said Tuesday. “Our nation has secrets, and those secrets deserve to be protected,” Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein said alongside Acting Air Force Secretary Matt Donovan during a roundtable discussion here at the annual Air, Space and Cyber conference. “People deserve to have our nation’s secrets protected.” Donovan said he recently asked for a briefing from…
David Mesa, a Marine Corps veteran, has brewed up an excellent idea to help other veterans. In 2017, as president of PJ’s Coffee, a New Orleans-based company, Mesa launched a program aimed at helping veterans open PJ’s franchises. Through a giveaway, PJ’s waives the franchise fee – as much as $40,000 – for one lucky veteran for a year. Through the Veterans Franchise Giveaway, veterans also obtain rights to use PJ’s branding and systems. To qualify, veterans have to meet certain financial benchmarks, pass a series of interviews, produce a video detailing how skills they acquired in the service apply to business,…
