PARIS—Anduril and General Atomics unveiled full-scale mockups of their fighter drones to the international market this week, pitching customizable weapons and a chance for Europe to help build them. U.S. Air Force officials helped both companies pitch the program to other countries, executives told Defense One at the Paris Air Show—even though the service has yet to field the drones itself.  “The U.S. Air Force has said: Let’s move out. Connecticut legislators recently moved to expand hunting opportunities in the state but limited their action to private lands and certain types of game.On June 16, the Connecticut General Assembly passed Public Act 25-138, which repealed parts of a “blue law” from the state’s Protestant history that forbade Sunday hunting. In 2015, the state had carved out some exceptions for bow hunters targeting deer. The new bill, which Governor Ned Lamont said he plans to sign into law, would allow Sunday hunting on private properties of 10 or more acres. Hunters would need to possess written landowner permission in the field and…

In the years following World War II, our government began to evaluate the equipment that was used so recently. One of the suggestions put forth was the idea that our Soldiers might be better armed with a lighter-weight service pistol and one that had a bit less recoil than the old M1911A1. Several companies submitted guns for testing, and Colt was right in there among them. Its idea was to stay with the proven design of its 1911 pistol, but to shorten the barrel and slide to 4.25 inches. In order to further reduce the weight, it manufactured the frame…

Jennifer Barnhill is a columnist for Military.com writing about military families. It has been more than two months since the world first learned about Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s use of an unclassified Signal group chat to communicate sensitive military operations to members of President Donald Trump’s cabinet and a reporter from The Atlantic. While America may have moved on, military families know that OPSEC is more than a political talking point; it is a matter of life and death. When my husband went on his first deployment, I was invited to attend a pre-deployment briefing. I have a love-hate relationship with my reloading press. Reloading ammunition is both fun and frustrating; relaxing and anxiety-producing; money-saving and money-wasting. It’s a hobby I’ve been obsessed with and wondered whether I’ll ever pick up again.I’m probably being dramatic, but the conflicted feelings are real, man. There are pros and cons to rolling your own cartridges. Reloading fanatics will tell you that you can’t be a serious hunter or sport shooter without slaving away at the bench. At the same time, I’ve spoken with successful competitive shooters, and definitely lots of hunters, who say it’s not worth it.What’s the…

Ever considered your career choice based on hunting seasons? You’re likely not the first. In fact, a lot of serious hunters will admit that their career choices revolved around hunting.
