Portable power stations are usually compared by battery capacity and inverter output. In this case, that doesn’t help much.

The BLUETTI AC200L, EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max, and Jackery HomePower 2000 Plus v2 all have a 2,048Wh battery and 2,400W continuous AC output. On the front of the box, they look almost interchangeable.

They aren’t.

The BLUETTI weighs about 20 pounds more than the Jackery. Solar charging ranges from 500 watts to 1,200 watts among the three units. Two can accept expansion batteries, while the regular EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max cannot. Those differences may matter far more during a long power outage than another impressive-looking number on a specification sheet.

For general household backup, the Jackery HomePower 2000 Plus v2 has an unusually good combination of low weight, expansion capability, 800-watt solar input, and 10ms UPS switching.

But I wouldn’t automatically call it the best of the three. The BLUETTI has a major advantage if solar charging matters, while the EcoFlow may make more sense if you want a lighter fixed-capacity station with good UPS performance.

Same 2,048Wh and 2,400W, Very Different Power Stations

*One caution with the Jackery: the older Battery Pack 2000 Plus is not compatible with this model. The HomePower 2000 Plus v2 requires the Battery Pack 2000 Plus v2.

BLUETTI lists the AC200L at 62.4 pounds, 1,200 watts maximum solar input, and expansion with several compatible battery packs. It also includes a 30-amp TT-30 outlet that will interest RV owners.

EcoFlow lists the DELTA 3 Max at 20.3 kg, or about 44.8 pounds, with 500 watts maximum PV input and 10ms backup switching. The important detail is that the regular DELTA 3 Max is not the expandable Max Plus model (Amazon). EcoFlow’s compatibility chart shows no extra-battery support for the regular DELTA 3 Max.

Jackery lists the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 at 18.8 kg, about 41.5 pounds, with 800 watts of solar input. Compatible Battery Pack 2000 Plus v2 units (Amazon) can increase the system to as much as 12kWh.

A 20-Pound Difference Changes What “Portable” Means

This may be the specification I would notice most often.

The Jackery weighs about 41.5 pounds. The EcoFlow is about 44.8 pounds. Either is still a substantial battery, but one reasonably strong person can move it around the house without much trouble.

The BLUETTI is 62.4 pounds.

Twenty pounds may not sound important when looking at a table online. Try carrying a 62-pound box down basement stairs, putting it into a vehicle, or moving it from the refrigerator to another room during an outage.

That changes the meaning of “portable.”

If the power station will normally sit on a shelf next to the same group of appliances, the BLUETTI’s weight may mean very little. If you expect to move it between the kitchen, basement, garage, RV, and vehicle, the lighter Jackery and EcoFlow have a real advantage.

The difference is especially interesting because the heavier AC200L does not contain a larger battery. All three start with the same 2,048Wh rating.

Solar Charging Is Where the BLUETTI Pulls Away

During a short blackout, fast wall charging matters. During a longer outage, there may not be a working wall outlet to charge from.

That’s when solar input becomes much more important.

The BLUETTI AC200L accepts up to 1,200 watts of solar input. Jackery allows up to 800 watts. The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max is limited to 500 watts. Maximum solar wattage isn’t the only limit. The panel array also has to stay within the power station’s specified PV voltage and current range.

That is a surprisingly large difference between three power stations with identical battery capacity.

BLUETTI says the AC200L can recharge from solar in roughly 2.5 hours under its stated 1,200-watt conditions. Real solar charging usually takes longer because panels rarely sit at maximum rated output for hours at a time. Clouds, sun angle, temperature, wiring losses, and panel placement all affect the result.

The higher input ceiling still gives the BLUETTI more opportunity to grab energy while the sun is good.

This is one reason I would look beyond weight before ruling out the heavier AC200L. For a power station that may spend most of its time at home and recharge from a substantial solar array, that 1,200-watt input can be more useful than shaving 15 or 20 pounds off the case.

The Jackery’s 800-watt maximum falls nicely between the other two.

EcoFlow’s 500-watt ceiling is adequate for occasional solar charging. For multi-day off-grid use, though, I would want to think carefully about whether 500 watts is enough for the loads I plan to run.

Expansion Matters More Than It Seems

A 2,048Wh battery gives you about 2kWh of nominal stored energy. That’s useful, but a long outage can consume it surprisingly fast.

Suppose your combined loads average 500 watts. After inverter losses and other overhead, a 2kWh station might give roughly three to three and a half hours at that continuous load.

A 100-watt average load could stretch into the neighborhood of 16 to 18 hours. A 1,000-watt continuous load could empty the battery in less than two hours.

These are rough estimates, not runtime promises. Refrigerators, freezers, furnaces, pumps, and many other household loads cycle on and off.

This is where expansion batteries change the job a power station can do.

Jackery lets the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 grow from its original 2,048Wh to as much as 12kWh with compatible Battery Pack 2000 Plus v2 batteries.

BLUETTI also supports expansion. The exact maximum depends on which compatible BLUETTI battery is used. BLUETTI has published configurations reaching roughly 8kWh total capacity.

The regular EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max is different. Its capacity stays at 2,048Wh.

This deserves attention because EcoFlow also sells the similarly named DELTA 3 Max Plus, which is expandable. That is a different power station with a 3,000-watt rated inverter. Don’t assume expansion specifications for the Max Plus also apply to the standard DELTA 3 Max.

For someone who knows 2kWh is all they will ever need, that doesn’t matter.

For preparedness, I like having the option to add capacity later.

What About Using One as a UPS?

All three can provide automatic backup power to plugged-in equipment, but their published switching times differ.

EcoFlow rates the DELTA 3 Max at 10ms and specifically mentions NAS systems and servers among its intended backup loads. Jackery lists 10ms UPS switching for the HomePower 2000 Plus v2. BLUETTI specifies switching within 20ms for the AC200L.

I wouldn’t choose one of these solely because 10ms looks better than 20ms.

The more important question is what you’re protecting. A refrigerator doesn’t care about a few extra milliseconds. Computers, network equipment, NAS devices, and other sensitive electronics may make UPS performance more useful.

Anyone using a power station for especially important computer equipment should still verify that the specific equipment behaves properly with that power station. A portable power station with UPS capability isn’t automatically the same thing as a dedicated computer UPS designed around that equipment.

Prior to my whole-house backup system integration, I used my older EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max as backup power for my chest freezers, so UPS operation is a feature I actually use. The DELTA 3 Max in this comparison is a newer model, so I’m not treating that experience as a firsthand test of its 10ms switching.

Which One Makes the Most Sense for a Power Outage?

With three machines this closely matched on battery and output, I don’t see one winner for everyone.

For general household outage backup, the Jackery HomePower 2000 Plus v2 has the strongest balance on paper. It is the lightest of the three, accepts 800 watts of solar, provides 10ms UPS switching, and can grow well beyond its original 2kWh battery.

The BLUETTI AC200L makes more sense when solar charging is high on the priority list. Its 1,200-watt solar input is more than double the EcoFlow’s maximum. It is also expandable and includes a TT-30 outlet. The tradeoff is obvious every time you pick it up.

The EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max fits a somewhat different buyer. It is much lighter than the BLUETTI, has fast 10ms switching, quiet operation, and EcoFlow’s app controls. If 2,048Wh is enough and you don’t intend to add batteries later, its lack of expansion may not be a problem. EcoFlow rates noise at no more than 25dB at a 600-watt load under its stated test conditions.

Price can change the decision too. These companies run frequent sales, so I wouldn’t permanently rank them based on a price seen on one particular day.

The Specification I Would Check Before Buying

There is something useful about finding three power stations with exactly the same battery capacity and inverter rating.

It removes two of the numbers that normally dominate the comparison.

Once 2,048Wh and 2,400W are equal, the differences become much easier to see.

If you’re going to move the station often, look closely at weight.

If you expect to depend on solar during a long outage, look at maximum solar input and your actual panel setup.

If there’s any chance 2kWh won’t be enough someday, check whether the model can accept an expansion battery before buying it.

Those questions can tell you more about how useful a portable power station will be during an outage than the two biggest numbers printed on the front of the box.
